The department of Civil Engineering is very active in research. The number and quality of research publications in the department have been increasing year on year. Research papers are published in highly cited science citation indexed and Scopus indexed journals. The consultancy services for private agencies as well as governmental organizations including ONGC, Panchayati raj, TIDCO, VRIDHI constructions undertaken by the department and successfully doing.

The department is researching the area of Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water and Wastewater Engineering and also Environmental Engineering.

In the field of fecal sludge separation and treatment process our department is providing support to Narsapur municipality and  Administrative Staff  College of India- Hyderabad.
