Master of Computer Applications
About The Department

To bridge the wide chasm between Computer theory and applications, Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology started MCA program in the year 2004 with an intake of 60 students.

The course has been designed to meet the growing demand of qualified professionals in the field of Information Technology. It is a postgraduate course that can be taken up after obtaining a Bachelor's Degree. The MCA programme is inclined more toward Application Development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming languages and tools to develop better and faster applications.

The MCA programme focuses on providing a sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to students in the relevant areas. It is intended to provide a modern, industry-oriented education in applied computer science. As the IT and the software industry are dynamic and fast growing, all the programmes are designed keeping in view the requirements of industry. The department faculty members are well experienced, dedicated and efficient at imparting knowledge to the students. Students are trained in the fields of Systems Designing, Application Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Security, Big Data Analytics, Web Designing & Development, and Machine Learning. Apart from the curriculum workshops are conducted periodically from experts of the industry as well as academia.

The pass percentage of the department has been more than 97% and more than 70% of the students obtain distinction every year, which speaks of the academic fervor in the department. Many of the students were placed in reputed organizations like CTS, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Oracle, IBM, in challenging positions.
